Final Product - Double Page Spread

Final Product - Double Page Spread

This is my final edit for my double page spread in my music magazine. I was very happy with the way that this image turned out for this page. I saw a photo during research of an artist called Hayley Williams, singer from band Paramore, who posed in a similar way for a photo shoot. I decided that i would use this a inspiration for my image. I also made the decision that the layout for my text would form around the 'model' in the image. I felt this helped to give this image a more professional look. I decided that the colour scheme for this page would be Black, White and Blue as i felt these colours were reflected in the edited version of the image.

Final Product - Contents Page

Final Product - Contents Page

This is the final product for contents page. I decided this was the page where I would use my group shot of my 'models'. I made the decision that I would make my layout similar to a real music magazine. I feel this helped me to grasp a sense of professionalism on this page. There is a list of bands and rock musical artists that B.A.S.S would have ranked as Great Rock Artists.

I decided that i would have the title of this page in red, I feel this is a bold colour that makes the title stand out and will gain the attention of the audience. Also I made the decision that the page numbers would also stand out and helps draw attention to the page titles that will inform and interest the reader about what they can hope to read in th is magazine.

My final decision was that I would place other edited pictures of my band The Pretty Reckless. I feel this helped to reinforce the 'Pretty Reckless take over' issue.

Final product - Front Cover

Final Product - Front Cover

This is the final product for my Front Cover. I decided to keep it very simple and basic. I only added features which I thought were necessary. I added the masthead 'B.A.S.S' and decided I would make a unusual decision to have my masthead off-centre which I thought made it interesting as it is not conventional.

I put a barcode onto the bottom on the page on the right hand side. I felt this made the magazine look more professional and realistic. I also decided to add a title underneath my masthead, I feel this make it more interesting and gave me the option to add more text without having cover lines which I decided took focus away from the picture. I did not like this.

With all of this in thought I created my cover and I am happy with it. I feel it both defies magazine conventions and follows them at the same time which I think makes this magazine cover especially unusual and will appeal to the readers eye.

Original vs Edit

Original vs Edit

This is the original photo vs the edited version. As you can see not much has been changed as I felt the original had lighting that worked well, however I did alter her slightly to make this image more bold and professional looking.

This is the group original against the the edited. I felt this image was quite orange due to the lightning and i felt that for this image to work it need to be bold and stand out. I added an effect to bring out the background colour.

This is my last photo that I had edited as I had already decided that this image would be my front cover photo. This image i felt like the first did not need much editing. I decided that may 'models' lips needed to be bolder and stand out in the picture.
